Purple braided bracelet

Purple braided bracelet

I bought a knitting machine to try and make I-cords. It was a cheap one but I started to like it.

Materials:
  • -        Cotton yarn
  • -        Jumbo Spool Knitting
  • -        Scissors

Directions:

I made three 20 cm long I-cords. On each end I left also 20 cm long yarn to braid them at the end.
The first time I made an I-cord with the machine I got annoyed. It took a while to cast the yarn on the spool but after a few minutes I started to get it.
Place the yarn in the center of the spool and secure the tail with your fingers. Then we start to place the yarn onto the needles.
We take the yarn that is between these two pegs. Next, wrap it around the front of the left one; bring it around clockwise, and behind the next peg.  And again, wrap it around the front clockwise, then behind the next peg.
Once we’ve wrapped all four pegs, we will do it exactly the same until all five pegs have two yarn wraps.
When we are done placing yarn on all the needles we will start knitting. Using our hook, we simply take the bottom loop bring it over the top loop and let it go. Again, the bottom loop is picked up by our hook; bring it over the top loop, and off.  Let’s go all the way around all four pegs until they each have just one loop remaining. Then it’s wrap time again.  We do this till we have the I-cord we desire.
Once you’re ready to remove your I-Cord, simply cut your yarn and thread it through your tapestry needle.  Now, thread the yarn tail through one loop, bring it up, and continue doing so until all four loops are removed.  You may wish to weave in your ends a little more securely, too, depending on your project.

After you have all the I-cords you need to braid them together, fist the thick part and then the thin part.
You will get a one size bracelet which is a great gift for family or friends.
Enjoy knitting!
